Nova Scotia currently has 1 Powerchair Soccer league in the Halifax Regional Municipality which serves the larger geographic area. There will also be a high performance strike force league starting fall 2024.
Nova Scotia believes all players have UN-protected rights to participate in quality sports programs (UN Conventions on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Rights of the Child). Quality participation is at the core of their program – founded in autonomy, engagement, challenge, mastery, belonginess and meaning.
Atlantic Canada is small but mighty – they have growing and thriving sport opportunities for powerchair users and have received a grant to develop the program and build developmental pathways from introductory to high performance sport.
